Johnson came into the fight as a 16-to-1 favourite. This is his 5th title defense. “Mighty Mouse” continues to show why he’s the best flyweight in the world, outclassing every single one of his opponents in the division, last defeating Ali Bagautinov in June at UFC 174.

Cariaso comes off 3 straight victories, although against unranked opponents, Iliarde Santos, Danny Martinez, and Louis Smolka, but nonetheless was granted a title shot in a rather shallow flyweight division.
