The main event of the evening, the undisputed featherweight title fight, was the most anticipated fight in UFC history. It pinned the current champion, Jose Aldo (25-1), against the interim champion, Conor McGregor (18-2).

Aldo and McGregor were scheduled to dance once before, at UFC 189, but Aldo pulled out of the fight because of an injury. That forced Chad Mendes to take Aldo’s spot and also forced the UFC to make the fight for the interim featherweight title.

McGregor would go on to win the fight by TKO in the second round and set up the fight everyone has been waiting for, Aldo vs. McGregor for the undisputed featherweight title.
