Alistair Overeem comes into this contest with a head of steam towards a UFC heavyweight title shot. With a huge finish over former champion, Junior Dos Santos, many thought Overeem would have been given the title shot outright; but with a chance to headline a card in a country he called home for many years, “The Demolition Man” couldn’t turn down the opportunity.
Andrei Arlovski was cruising through the division just like his opponent, until he met Stipe Miocic in his last UFC fight. Hopefully just a minor setback for the major comeback, Arlovski hopes to tear through his former teammate to get back into contention.
The tension between these two is thick, with an elongated back story between the two at the Winklejohn Academy down in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Don’t expect to see these two together again after this event concludes in UFC Rotterdam, Netherlands.
